Please report to the
office 5 minutes before the time of your examination.
To prepare for exam:
Nothing
to eat or drink after midnight the evening before the test.
Stay
away from gas producing foods and carbonated drinks 24-48 hours before the
test.
During the exam:
Most of the examination will be performed while you are lying
on your back or side. Non- staining ultrasound gel will be applied to your skin
and wiped off afterwards.
There is absolutely NO pain involved.
After the examination:
The examination can take from 10 minutes to 45 minutes. You
will be completely comfortable during the examination.
After the examination the stenographer who performed the
exam will give the picture to your doctor, who will review them. The nurse will
contact you regarding the results within 48 hours.
