Bio:

Dr. Norris is a native of Delray Beach, FL. He received his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and his medical degree from Meharry Medical College. His internal medicine residency was completed at the University of Tennessee- Memphis.

 

Dr. Norris spent nine years in the United States Army. He served three years at Fort Campbell, where he was the Chief of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He completed an Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Training Program at the University of Maryland. The majority of his remaining time on active duty was spent in an academic setting conducting research and teaching gastroenterology fellows.  He held academic appointments at the level of an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Uniformed University of the Health Sciences and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is published in peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented abstracts and research at national meetings. He was appointed Director of Endoscopy at Walter Reed, and had the unique experience to serve as the personal gastroenterologist for military flag officers and members of the U.S Senate and Congress. Dr. Norris is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, serving a combat tour with 1 Cavalry Division in 2009. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his performance during this tour.

 

Dr. Norris has practiced gastroenterology in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 2016. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is an avid runner and fitness enthusiast.
